For backgrounds, I would use Corel Painter for painting the backgrounds, then import them to Photoshop for adjustments. Also, I would use TVP for the 2d frame by frame animation, then import the drawings to Toon Boom Harmony for inking and coloring (I'd use Harmony for other features as well). They would all be used with different software for tasks like 2d animation, backgrounds, compositing, 3d stuff, editing, etc.įor instance, I could use Final Draft for scriptwriting, then use Toon Boom Storyboard Pro for storyboards, then import them TVPaint for while I do the animatics with it. Let's say I would form a production studio for 2d animated projects from short, to episodic, to full length.
